In March 2026, Orchid Development proudly attended the Annual Fundraising Tea Party hosted by the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman. The event brought together members of the community in support of arts education and continued access to the Gallery for all.
Under the leadership of King Flowers and Lisa Flowers, Orchid Development has long supported the National Gallery and its role in preserving and celebrating the history and culture of the Cayman Islands. This commitment reflects a broader belief that development should contribute not only to the built environment, but also to the cultural life of the community.
Nine members of Orchid Development’s administration team attended the event, enjoying an afternoon that combined creativity, philanthropy, and community spirit. The ballroom was transformed by a beautifully presented virtual garden, displayed across the perimeter walls, creating an immersive and memorable setting for the occasion.
A highlight of the afternoon was the live auction, which featured a range of curated experiences and luxury packages. While the Orchid team placed bids on several items, they ultimately did not secure a winning bid. Even so, being part of the energy in the room and watching the bidding unfold was an experience in itself, with all proceeds supporting a meaningful cause.
Hosted by NGCI Board Chairperson and Patron Susan A. Olde-Hampson, OBE, the fundraiser plays an important role in supporting the Gallery’s year-round education programmes and ensuring free access for the wider community. Contributions from partners such as The Agency Cayman and local artists further underscore the collaborative spirit behind the event.
Orchid Development’s support for the arts extends beyond this annual fundraiser. As part of Cayman Art Week, Orchid will once again host artists at The Wicket Bar on 29 May 2026. This initiative provides a platform for local creatives while bringing art into a social and accessible setting. Details on participating artists will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
Through continued involvement with the National Gallery and events such as Cayman Art Week, Orchid Development remains committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen cultural connection and enrich community life across the Cayman Islands.
